Chris Radin has been shortlisted as potential 2014 CEO of the Year. The Stihl CEO is one of six finalists selected from 150 nominees. Finalists were selected on the basis of their achievements, contribution to their companies, financial performance and other initiatives. CEO of the Year is one of the headline honours in the annual Executive of the Year Awards organised by The CEO Magazine.
Chris Radin joined Stihl in 2010 as Director Sales & Marketing, taking over the reins in late 2012 following the retirement of Dr Walter Roso. Chris has set a goal of personally visiting every Stihl Dealership in Australia; a job he has 90% completed.
“Our Dealers are at the frontline of the brand so it’s vital we’re in touch with their every-day experience, to ensure what Stihl’s doing is local, practical and in-line with the market,” he told PEA at the time.
Under his leadership Stihl has received AON Hewitt’s Best Employers Award for 2013 and 2014. He has encouraged female participation within what traditionally has been a male dominated Industry. Today Stihl’s local leadership team has an equal number of male and female employees.
The other five finalist CEOs are: Colleen Callander (Sportsgirl), Ciaran Davis (Australian Radio Network), Craig Mills (RSL Care), Simon Ryan (Carat) and Mark Taylor (Taylor Construction). A panel of executives including Bob Black (MD TNT Australasia), Nick Abboud (CEO Dick Smith) and Luisa Pastrello (GM Etihad Australasia) will assist CEO Magazine executives make the final decision, which will be announced at a function in Sydney on 27th November 2014.
