XXXX STIHL Celebrates 50 Years Down Under Over recent months STIHL celebrated 50 years on Australian soil, with a series of cocktail events held across the nation in notable venues such as the MCG in VIC, The Ivy in NSW, and at the Optus Stadium in Perth. All dealers and STIHL staff were invited to the soirees to commemorate the Jubilee milestone for the brand. Jo Katsos, STIHL Australia Marketing Director said “Not only were we celebrating our 50 year milestone of STIHL Australia, we were also thrilled to be able to see our valued Dealers in person again after being in lockdown in Melbourne over the prior 2 years. It is wonderful to see our Dealers and celebrate together as we also look to the future together.” STIHL was founded by Andreas Stihl in 1926 and today remains a privately owned business in the hands of Stihl’s grandson, Dr. Nikolas Stihl at the company’s headquarters in Waiblingen, Germany. With the lack of ability for Dr. Nikolas Stihl to fly to Australia for the event, he specially prepared a dedicated video for all STIHL Dealers and employees expressing his gratitude for the profound success achieved over the 50 years. After opening the doors to the first overseas subsidiary in North Melbourne in July 1971, STIHL have since cemented their position as the number one selling brand of chainsaws worldwide and the leading brand of petrol, battery and electric garden power tools, boasting a rich 96 year heritage of German engineering excellence.
