Kress launches first cordless commercial lawn mower in Australia Kress has unveiled the Kress Commercial KC711.9 60V 51cm Self-Propelled Lawn Mower, its new outdoor battery power equipment to dealers in early June with the aim to reinvent the professional landscape in Australia. Backed by a long-regarded international reputation in advanced German engineering, Kress is introducing its complete environmental solution to effectively switch from petrol to battery power – through its greener offering, lower investment, greater efficiency, and operating power. The KC711.9 60V 51cm Self-Propelled Lawn Mower is the first cordless solution for commercial use. Four different blade types allow for the perfect cut under any grass type or condition (Low Lift, Medium Lift, High Lift & Gator Blade). The Kress-built brushless motor provides exceptional power for mulching or bagging. With a reinforced steel deck, IPX4 waterproofing, front bumper protection, trim side wear plates, and large robust ball bearing rubber wheels, it is guaranteed that the Kress mower will handle the difficulty encountered in commercial landscaping. Other benefits of the Lawn Mower consist of a 9.5 Nm torque, allowing landscapers to tackle challenging jobs such as wet, long, and dense grass, a high cutting speed of 3300 rpm with up to 6.4km/hr self-propelled speed to tackle variable cutting conditions for optimal efficiency, an 88L catcher, and is a lightweight 32kg (without battery). The front bumper guard and side deck wear plates protect the mower against abrasive structures during use and transport. The KC711.9 using an 8-minute CyberSystem™ charging battery platform engineered and designed to meet the demanding needs of commercial landscapers. The system features 4Ah (240Wh) and 11Ah (660Wh) CyberPacks™, with the ability to recharge each 60V CyberPacks™ to 100% charge in only 8 minutes or 80% charge in 5 minutes; the fastest recharge of any commercial battery system available. Additionally, the new Kress CyberSystem™ promises significantly higher power output, longer battery life, and lower operating costs longer term than standard battery packs. Notwithstanding the environmentally conscious climate, professional landscapers are forced to accept higher emissions of petrol-powered equipment as the only viable economic option for performance, efficiency, and runtime. A petrol-operated lawnmower running for an hour is equivalent to a 480-kilometre car ride. The added power output allows Kress outdoor power equipment to meet or exceed the same performance as most commercial petrol machines but with less noise and zero harmful emissions. In addition, the Kress CyberPack™ battery can be re-charged thousands of times, which is up to 10 times more than standard lithium-ion batteries. The extended battery life supports multiple recharges per day and reduces the cost of replacement battery packs over the life of the equipment. Don Gao, Chairman and CEO of Positec Group reveals, “A big trend around the world is people looking into battery-driven, cordless tools, which have a tremendous technological advantage over traditional petroleum.” “Our new Kress landscaping technology, including our self-propelled lawn mower, will ignite a dramatic change in the professional landscaping industry. No wasted down time, more productivity, and more profits for our customers – that’s what Kress is all about,” Mr Gao said. As a part of the well-established Positec family of leading brands, Kress has built a reputation for advanced German engineering and has been recognised for designing and manufacturing electric motors for 93 years. Kress is taking on the Australian market with a commitment to ensure the landscape maintenance industry a zero-emission future. Its unique battery technology makes the transition from petrol- to battery-powered OPE sustainable, with benefits for the environment and the users’ profitability.
